The Environmental and Cultural Design Group in Hayama
NPO: The Environmental and Cultural Design Group in Hayama
The group evaluates, protects, and preserves historic properties and the landscaping ideas. They published a paperbook "Hayamano Komichi (Hayama Travel Guide)" in 2005 and "Hayamano Besso (Holiday Houses in Hayama)" in 2006. They offer sightseeing tours or hold local events based in Hiranotei Hayama.
From the group's website:
There are two major rivers running through Hayama town which connect the mountains to the sea. Because of the mild climate and the natural environment, Hayama is a wonderful locale for relaxing and unwinding. Having been loved by the Imperial Family, politicians, business people, and artists since the Meiji era, there are many holiday houses spread out over Hayama. The town preserves old buildings of historical significance giving people a sense of place and connection to the past. The blend of the old with the new has made the town very attractive. It is important for us to build an ideal urban town by combining them and to hand it down to our next generation.
